Swansea SACRVE*
Fresh ideas for RVE**
*Standing Advisory Council on Religion, Values and Ethics
This project enhances **Religion, Values, and Ethics (RVE) education by offering high-quality resources and practical professional learning for educators to support their planning and delivery of RVE.
Through dynamic workshops and collaborative learning, it aims to inspire teachers and exemplify effective educational practices to support high quality RVE that meet the needs and requirements of the Curriculum for Wales. Additionally, the project includes rigorous external evaluations to ensure the value, relevance, and quality of its resources and training laying a solid foundation for future RVE excellence across our region and further. We are deeply grateful to Westhill Endowment for their support.
Swansea, Carmarthenshire, and Pembrokeshire SACRVEs are committed to supporting and inspiring Religion, Values, and Ethics (RVE) education across their region to enrich students’ understanding of diverse worldviews and ethical frameworks.
By supporting high-quality RVE planning, teaching and learning, they aim to equip young people with the religious literacy, critical thinking and ethical awareness needed to navigate an increasingly diverse society.
Their involvement in this project reflects a shared belief in the value of RVE as a foundation for personal development, empathy, and social cohesion, and they remain dedicated to providing educators with the resources and training necessary to deliver impactful and engaging lessons in RVE that support learners in becoming ethical and informed citizens.
The SACRVEs in Swansea, Carmarthenshire, and Pembrokeshire have commissioned Lat Blaylock and Angela Hill who are UK wide RE advisers with RE Today and have extensive experience of working in Wales.
These advisors bring specialised expertise, innovative approaches, and a wide understanding of best practices in both RE and RVE, which are essential for developing impactful resources and training. By working with national advisors, the SACRVEs aim to enrich local RVE teaching with fresh insights and strategies, creating a robust, future-focused framework that empowers teachers and benefits students across the region, and nationally.
