Sparkfish
R.E. Events
SparkFish are a local collaborative Christian organisation that aims to inspire and encourage young people in faith, hope and love. We engage with young people in schools across Reigate, Redhill and Merstham, East Surrey.
We believe in the Christian message, and we strive to explain it relevantly and intelligently so that young people can make their own informed response. We work with all ages from EYFS to sixth form students, seeking to bridge gaps, build confidence, helping young people to grow emotionally and spiritually.
SparkFish supports schools with three areas of work, ‘Learn’, ‘Think’ and ‘Hope’. Our Think spaces provide a calm space in a busy school day for pupils in all school years to engage in activities that promote reflection, wonder, hope and opportunity to pray. ‘Think’ is accessible to all schools and enables students to reflect on significant questions such as life’s origins, values and human relationships.
Our Hope strand supports young people during times of challenge and change during their school life. We offer support for the transition from primary schools to secondary schools, friendly lunch clubs, one to one mentoring sessions, small groups which support emotional wellbeing and self-esteem, and group and one to one ‘drawing and talking’ intervention sessions.
Our Learn strand of work supports schools with their RE Provision, aiming to provide RE events which bring the bible to life, and lead assemblies which explore Christian values.
SparkFish offer collective worship sessions and interactive RE lessons throughout the year. We also offer a popular two part RE programme for the main Christian Festivals for the year, The Easter Experience which is a dramatic presentation of the events of Holy week and Easter for school year 5, and The Christmas Journey is an interactive re-telling of the Nativity story for school year two.
