The Praxis Centre for Hope and Activism
Equipping for Change
The Praxis Centre for Hope and Activism was established by a group of Christians from the business, radio and charity sectors in 2018. Our aim is to see more Christians embrace our ancient call to activism.
Praxis was birthed out of an epiphany – the sudden realisation that grassroots Christian communities can be incredible incubators for the sort of social movements that change the world. In fact, activism is integral to the Church’s calling: to be actively seeking justice and restoration: campaigning and serving, speaking and acting, praying and walking.
In order to help inspire and equip christians to bring hope and justice in their local communities and our society, we produce the Hopeful Activists’ Podcast and run Praxis Labs Online Training Courses.
You can listen to the Hopeful Activists' Podcast at hopefulactivists.captivate.fm/listen and on all the main podcast apps. We explore how well-known (and lesser known) projects started, and explore the stories of the practitioners, theologians, and pioneers involved. Episodes vary in length from 15 minutes to 2 hours, with topics from homelessness to climate change, addiction to peace-making, poetry to burnout. Each weekly episode varies in length, from around 15 minutes to 2 hours.
Our Praxis Labs Online Training features live weekly sessions with topic experts, time in small groups, and 1:1 support with a life coach. Labs One explores the foundations for effective activism, and helps you find your role in God’s Grand Story. Labs Two provides time for those already engaged in activism to reflect, dream and be refreshed and equipped to more effectively bring about change.
