Community Cohesion
Monty’s Community Hub is a community development charity and local hub, operating at the heart of an area of significant and multiple deprivation in Southampton. Deeply rooted in our community, our aim is to enact local transformation; enabling personal, social and spiritual growth in partnership with the community, so we can all enjoy abundant life within a flourishing neighbourhood. We bring people together with a focus on supporting the most vulnerable and disadvantaged members of society.
At Monty’s, we offer a variety of faith-based activities designed by and aimed at our local community. These activities provide a welcoming space for people to explore their faith or simply connect with others who share similar beliefs. Some of these activities include:
Sunday Lunch Church:
This monthly gathering provides a space to enjoy a Sunday roast and engage in conversations about faith.
Going Deeper:
This fortnightly group offers a supportive space for adults to explore faith and discipleship at a deeper level.
Monday Night Youth:
This fortnightly group provides a safe and welcoming space for young people to explore faith and connect with peers.
Wander & Wonder:
This monthly session focuses on connection: with God, ourselves, nature and others. Often based around a walk through a local nature spot, this session weaves poetry, prayers, silence and wondering questions together with seasonal reflections and enjoying the natural world.
With the support from Westhill Endowment, we aim to expand the reach of these groups. Through co-design with regular participants, we also hope to co-produce a community cohesion project.
