The Create Community

The Create Community is a focused arts based group which exists:

- for people who feel lonely or isolated

- for adults with learning difficulties/disabilities

- for those adults who recognise their mental health isn’t what they want it to be at this time

- and for those that just need a reason ‘to do’

The Community has grown over the last 10 years and its success lies in the creationships developed; the family that’s been created and the connections between the Create Community members and their communities.

We emphasise the importance of building Creationships that in turn builds confidence. We make a point of getting to know everyone before we agree that the Create Community is the right place for them. There is no referral system as the Community functions with the right chemistry between its members.

The Create Community is an increasingly essential part of everyday life to growing numbers of people, over 18 years of age, in Bolton.

We encourage people to come into our Cafe Create to get to know us before we/they decide that some time in a more focused arts based group will help to reduce the isolation or loneliness they are currently experiencing. More often than not we find that engaging in the art activity instantly helps to break down barriers and gets people talking and more importantly listening to each other - that's where friendships develop.
