Dear God...
“Hardly anyone can ever find God because God is right at the end of your mind after all the background thoughts are gone.”

Pop In - Drop In
A Journey Through Art
Pop-In, Drop-In are a peer led group, based in Chelmesley Wood, Birmingham, who share severe and debilitating issues due to mental ill health.

Pop In - Drop In meets fortnightly and provides peer-to-peer support and inclusive and accessible social development opportunities.

The group promotes positive activities, advice and signposting helping individuals to stay in control of their life using discussion forums, sharing experiences interested and hobbies, building relationships, being listened to and being understood.

The group sees beyond a persons mental health, recognising and nurturing their abilities and helping them to achieve goals and aspirations. This group of people have found that standing together they can do amazing things helping each other to heal and grow.
Pop-In Drop-In also benefits from the delivery of creative activities that promote holistic wellbeing such as arts and crafts, music and drama and discovering spirituality.

This project ‘A Journey Through Art’ will use creative process as a safe way to represent inner experiences, developing an awareness of the link between thinking and spirituality.  Creativity is known to reduce anxiety, depression, stress and trauma and the sessions will help to reduce isolation.

With support of staff members from Three Trees Community Centre, Northern Star Community Arts and Start Art Group local artists, and funding from Westhill Endowment, the group will work on a series of art projects over a 12 month period that will help to process feelings, express feelings, manage behaviours and conflicts and explore reactions and emotions.

The hope is that participants will feel more self-aware, maybe find resolutions and feel self-worth and self-esteem.

Artists will be employed to work with the group. During the project we also hope to visit galleries and have art work shown at the centre. Peer-members have been able to be part of planning this project and applying for this funding.
The group planned the project over a year ago because of the obvious need … but the pandemic happened and it affected us in many ways as we had to stop gatherings, visits and travel. We are now (April 2021) allowed to meet in small support groups but are not in a suitable situation yet to run this project to its full potential.

We are now waiting for a little bit of normality to return and for the government rules to make it possible so that we may continue forward with our amazing project.
We will update this page as things progress but in the meantime please feel free to contact us.
