Dear God...
“Hardly anyone can ever find God because God is right at the end of your mind after all the background thoughts are gone.”

The Armed Forces' Christian Union (AFCU), is an interdenominational, tri-service (Navy, Army, Air Force) fellowship of Christians who wish to grow in their faith and share it with those with whom they serve.

AFCU seeks to encourage and build up Christians in the Armed Forces in their faith and to support evangelism and does this by producing literature, providing prayer support for serving members, organising activities and teaching holidays and weekends, and by personal visits. AFCU is funded only by its members and has a small paid staff based in our office in Swindon.

The AFCU Family Ministry is a ministry within the AFCU committed to advancing God’s kingdom through Armed Forces Families, equipping families by providing practical programmes and activities that strengthen family relationships.

Easter Camp is an event run by the Family Ministry Coordinators, Adam and Ruth Pyrke, who have extensive experience of providing this type of Christian camp for young people. It is an exciting, full-board, 6-day holiday camp aimed primarily at children aged 11-18 years of serving armed forces’ personnel, both commissioned and non-commissioned, and those associated with the armed forces.

Each year about 65-70 young people and between 25-30 leaders come together at Easter time to have fun, encourage each other and to make new and lasting friendships that stretch beyond postings and the constraints of military life. Some come to deepen their Christian faith, others come to find it.

The aims of Easter Camp are to provide an environment that enables the attendees to draw closer in their relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This is done by engaging the young people into scripture via Bible study, preaching, worship and prayer. The week is also filled with fun activities that are designed to develop and challenge the young people to grow and work as a team. This event has been richly blessed by God time and time again over the 92 years it has been running, and every year we have seen young people accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
